Dena Brody
"Ice cream solves everything!"
Dena Brody is an actor, singer, dancer, artist, and huge dog lover. She is graduating from Hofstra University with a B.F.A. in Theater Arts: Performance and a minor in Musical Theater.
Born and raised outside of Boston, she has always been a city girl. She loves adventure, dreaming, and learning. She grew up watching movie musicals ("Grease", "Cats", "Joseph…") and swears by this being the reason she loves both theater and film. She is also a self-proclaimed Disney Channel kid.
Dena is a very detail-oriented person, and she likes to be precise. However, she is also naturally a very goofy person and loves the freedom of letting go that performing brings. As she is right out of college and eager to work, she wants to lean into that young and fresh energy she can bring to a role as an actor. Dena gravitates towards roles that are awkward, maybe off beat, and have good comedic timing. She also connects with characters that are very introspective.
Additional interests and passions of Dena include sketch comedy, music production, songwriting, casting, arts management, new works, fine art, and soccer. One of Dena’s fondest memories from Hofstra was playing the charmingly neurotic character Amber in the play Actually by Anna Zeigler. This spring, she will be playing the role of Rosemary in Summer and Smoke at Hofstra University.
