Kat Quiñones
"Never underestimate the power of a woman in yellow."
Kat Quiñones is a New York based actor who is originally from the Bronx, NY but lived most of her life in Canton, GA. She graduates in Spring of 2020 from Hofstra University with a B.F.A. in Theatre Arts: Performance and a minor in Fine Arts.
Kat loved writing and creating art as a child and was inundated with old movies and musicals that her mother showed her. However, it truly wasn’t until her sister got her involved with highschool theatre that she truly found her love for acting. Since her start Kat has run forward and found a love for all forms of theatre but especially in Shakespeare, non-realistic theatre, movement theatre, and film. Kat finds that her overarching goal is to be a tool to bring the power of an authentic story to those who need to hear it.
She’s been able to show her passion for acting with her recent roles of Ulysses in Troilus and Cressida, Fefu in Fefu and Her Friends by María Irene Fornés, and Joan of Arc/Narrator in The Saint Plays by Erik Ehn, along with many more.
Along with her love of theatre Kat is a huge proponent for the visual arts and connects her love of drawing and painting to her other passion of costume design and has designed costumes for two dance pieces while at Hofstra and has worked as a stitcher in the Hofstra costume shop for two years.
